We would like to acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the land on which our school is built, the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin nation and we pay our respects to elders past and present.
St John’s is committed to acknowledging, building and sustaining respect and understanding between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians.
Our vision is for a school that values and celebrates diversity and where all students have respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander knowledge, culture and values.

St John's Fire Carriers
This year we proudly held our FIRE (Friends Igniting Reconciliation through Education) Carriers Commissioning Service and celebrated the commissioning of our FIRE Carriers for 2019. We also unveiled of our collaborative artwork titled: One Fire – With Faith and Love.
As part of the ceremony we welcomed Sherry Balcombe from Aboriginal Catholic Ministry, Councillor Prue Cutts from Whitehorse Council and our Aboriginal artist Heather Kennedy. Maeve, Jessica, Patrick and Aidan were given a special blessing as FIRE Carriers, representing our student body. They are now the ‘Living Flames’ that will ignite the fire of the new dreaming of true justice, love, compassion and hope for the world today.
