Grandparents & Special Friends Day

On Wednesday the 28th of April we held our annual Grandparents Day event. Students and their grandparents or special friends came together to celebrate mass in the morning, before heading off to the classrooms to participate in an activity together. 

The activity was aimed at students learning more about their grandparents or special friends' own school experience and comparing it to what school is like for them now.

It was very special to have so many families join us for the day. The students were all very excited and proud to have their families with them at school.

Here are a few comments from students and what they thought of the day: 

“My Gran and Pa talked about what they did at school when they were little, I learnt they liked playing hide and seek outside” Charlotte (Prep)

“I learnt that my Nanna had her own desk at school, which opened up, and the students all sat on their own” Ben (1/2)  

“I learnt that school was very different for my grandparents, they did not have as much technology” Milla (3/4)

“I loved having Nanna at school supporting me, it was great to show her what I’ve been learning” Joseph (3/4) 

“It was fun learning about what school was like for my grandparents, I learnt they had over 50 students in a class!”
