Visit from Councillor Ben Stennett

Recently we had a very special guest visit the 3/4 learning area as part of the students persuasive writing unit. Councillor Ben Stennett, a member of our local Whitehorse Council came in to receive letters the students had written suggesting changes for our local area. Students from each class read their proposals to Ben, before we handed over all of the letters to be read. 

The experience was very powerful for our students as they had the chance to see first hand what it is like to follow the process of suggesting ideas or changes to occur in their local area. Ben, very generously wrote an individual response to each student and came back to visit our students and present them in person. It was again a very rich learning experience and something that made the students feel listened to and proud.
